ESL writing problems

There's always presumptions that ESL writers are not competent enough in conveying meaning on papers. Some blame it on lack of vocabulary knowledge, others on the interference of L1. What about you? And what did you do to overcome such limitations? Do share your experience

Vocabulary empowerment is such an indispensable in any writing skill. Mastering as many words as possible would lend oneself to become a writer and thus pave the way for better language improvement. Perhaps, one should accept the compromise deal by emphasising on vocabulary at first hand. Only later, grammar and vocabulary would go along hand-in-hand.
